General Instruction
  • Only RV University and RVCE Students and Staff are allowed to enter the library and utilize the library facilities.
  • An ID Card must be worn and displayed to access the library.
  • ID cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Loss of an ID card should be reported to the librarian immediately. A duplicate card shall be issued against formal application with an appropriate fine.
  • Edibles are not allowed inside the library.
  • Silence must be maintained in the library.
  • Discussions are prohibited in unauthorized areas of the library. Kindly use the dedicated study pods and research hubs for discussions, maintaining a low volume.
  • Users are not allowed to remove or to change the arrangement of the chairs or tables in the library.
  • Keep your mobile phones silent mode.
  • Using Mobile Phones is strictly prohibited in the library. Kindly use the designated Phone Booths to attend the calls.
  • Electronic gadgets and devices that disrupt the library environment are strictly prohibited.
  • Issued books and textbooks are not allowed to be taken inside the library.
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the circulation counter.
  • Users are forbidden to lend any documents from the library to third party.
  • Do not save any folders on the Digital Library desktop, in case anything saved on the desktop is deleted before closing the system.
  • Do not misplace the books on the shelf. After reference, please leave the books on the reading table or return them to the right shelf in the correct place. If the books are removed from the shelf (if you don’t want to issue them), then keep them separately.
  • Reference books, journals/magazines and newspapers are meant for reading in the library only.
  • Users should replace used periodicals (newspapers, journals and magazines) at the right place after using them for the convenience of other readers.
  • Library users must comply with copyright laws.
  • Writing or marking in books are strictly prohibited. Should not tear or mutilate pages.
  • In case any damage is caused to any library reading material or property, the person concerned shall be liable to pay the replacement cost of damages.
  • Personal belongings: Bags, folders, blazers, helmets etc. are not allowed inside the library.
  • Library staff are not responsible for things kept in the personal belongings rack.
  • After using the fans, lights etc. make sure you switch them off.
  • NO-DUE certificate will not be issued to users unless they return all library books and pay any overdue charges.
  • Anyone found guilty of misbehavior/misconduct, his/her membership shall be cancelled.

Note: Violation of these Rules will call for punitive action against the user.
